Join us for a painting class led by one of Zion’s artists!
When: Saturday, February 23, 9am-12pm
Where: Zion Powell, back of sanctuary
What: This is a painting class led by Zion artist Ruth Anne Washek! Here, you will learn about color theory, brush control, and the basics of watercolor.
Supplies:
- Plastic 10 well tray
- Three brushes used for watercolors: Bamboo Sumi brush #4, #2 round brush, ½” flat brush
- #2 or 2B pencil
- Kneadable eraser
- Any set of tube watercolors with 5 to 12 tubes. A set should include red, blue, yellow, green, and payne’s grey. Please do NOT bring Gouache watercolors.
- If you attended our previous painting class with Ray Smith, you can use your canvas from that. Otherwise, it would be preferable to use a “Windsor Newton watercolor block 11×14 cold press, also 140#.”
Details:
Pre-registration is required. Registration closes February 22nd. The cost is $15/person. There will be NO EASELS available – if you have one you want to bring you are welcome to do so, otherwise painting will be done on tables.
No childcare is available.
